Victoria Tynes
My name is Victoria Tynes, and I’m 17 years old. I graduated high school at just 16 years old after becoming pregnant with my child at just 15, which was one of my proudest accomplishments because it reflected my commitment to staying focused when it comes to my education. I’ve always set high educational goals for myself, and becoming a young mother has only motivated me more to succeed—not just for me, but for my one-year-old son. Balancing school, parenting, and personal growth has taught me how important discipline and productivity are, and I take pride in managing my time and responsibilities.
Throughout this course, I’ve learned many valuable lessons, but two stood out the most: understanding how mental health affects budgeting and applying the 50/30/20 budgeting plan. Learning how emotions and stress can impact financial decisions helped me recognize the importance of maintaining both mental and financial balance. The 50/30/20 plan gave me a clear, realistic structure to manage my money wisely, ensuring that I’m saving and planning for the future. I’d definitely recommend this course to my friends because it teaches practical life skills that everyone can benefit from—no matter their goals or background.
In the future, I plan to attend West Kentucky Community & Technical College (WKCTC) and earn my degree in diagnostic medical sonography. My ultimate goal is to work as an ultrasound technician in a hospital setting, where I can help patients through care and technology. I’m passionate about entering the medical field because it allows me to combine my interest in science with my desire to make a difference in people’s lives. This course has given me tools that will help me not only manage my finances effectively but also build a strong foundation for my future career and family!
